Squash Ladder Rules

Squash Ladder Rules

1.     You may challenge the player up to three positions above you on the ladder. When you join the ladder you may challenge any player as your first challenge. Chose your first challenge carefully, since after this unique opportunity you may only challenge players up to three positions above you on the ladder and you will have to start your climb of the ladder from the bottom.

2.     It is the responsibility of the Challengee to respond to the Challenger with date(s)/time(s) of availability. Once the players agree on a date/time, the Challenger is responsible for making the court reservation.

3.     All games should be played within 14 days of a challenge being made (unless there are extenuating circumstances) otherwise the challengee forfeits. The challenge may be cancelled and re-challenged to provide more time. Forfeit protests can be made to the administrator.  keithstaples@btinternet.com

4.     You should play your game at a mutually convenient time. If your timings do not coincide and you CANNOT agree, then you MUST play your match on a weekday commencing between 6pm and 8pm. This will be known as a 'compulsory match time'.

5.     If the person being challenged offers 3 different 'compulsory match times' (on different days) and the challenger cannot make any of them, then the CHALLENGE is VOID and should be cancelled.

6.     If the person being challenged cannot offer 3 different 'compulsory match times' (on different days) then the CHALLENGER WINS by default.

7.     If either party is more than 20 minutes late in attending an agreed match then the late or non attendee loses the match.

8.     If you make a successful challenge you take the position of the person you beat. The player you defeated, and everyone below him/her, moves down one place. If you lose the challenge, everyone remains in the same place.

9.     Matches are best of 5 games, and a game is the first to 9 unless a game reaches 8-8 (when the player reaching 8 first can decide to play to 9 or 10). You can only score a point when you serve.

10. All results to be put on the adjacent result sheet at the club

If you become injured or are away on holiday please mark on the results
for Keith to illustrate on the ladder.
