West Warwickshire Sports Club has a long and successful history in the game of squash, fielding top club teams during the hayday of the game in the 70’s and 80’s. Having hosted many top internationals and in particular the great Jonah Barrington who was for many years based at the club.
You don't need expensive equipment to play squash, shoes are around £25—£40 and need to be clean with non marking soles, a racket can be bought for £15—£150 and there's no need to spend more than £30 on one whatever your standard, if you're good enough to tell the difference someone will give you a free one!
The club squash team is currently participating in the Warwickshire County Leagues. There is an internal club league system suitable for players of all ages and abilities, playing different opponents in a competitive environment is the best way to improve your game, the club leagues give all members this opportunity. Friday night is club night when all members are welcome
Professional coaching will be provided for junior players, the club will work with local schools, parent friendly coaching will be after school and at weekends and will use only accredited coaches with the necessary child care credentials.
There is a regular programme of events for all members including club competitions with open and handicap events, coaching evenings and social events.
New members of all levels are warmly welcomed and the squash Chairman will be happy to meet you for a chat about squash membership.
