A Message from Robert Saffery - General Manager »

Members update

I have over the last two months reviewed all aspects of the clubs operation in order to offer the members of all the sports and social sections a better service. I intend to develop the coaching program, produce an imaginative social events calendar and maintain the quality of the excellent facilities.

We will also be extending the reception opening hours, expanding the catering operation and rationalising the clubs opening hours. This review is to ensure a secure financial operation to guarantee the future of the club. To achieve these aims we have reviewed the membership categories and prices alongside a comprehensive competitor analysis. In real terms the vast majority of membership categories have stayed the same or been reduced.

I will be reviewing the squash and tennis coaching structure with the support of the committees, to deliver a social and performance program which will incentivise and attract county, national and world class players. To the Cricket, Hockey and Bowls sections, I would advocate the same process and support to ensure they continue to be driving the standards of their sports locally and nationally.

I have been involved with aggressive negotiations with our suppliers to reduce certain areas of our operating costs, resulting in savings on a vast majority of the clubs suppliers. This will enable the club to eliminate operating losses over a 2 or 3 year timescale.

Members discount on food and beverage will only be applied if a membership card is produced at the bar.

I hope that you will continue to support the initiatives of your sections to grow membership participate in the new coaching and social program and reduce the operating loss of this wonderful facility.

Please contact me if you are interested in advertising or sponsoring teams or individuals at the club, the club would like to foster long term relationships with businesses and organisations sympathetic to the long term goals of the West Warwick Sports Clubs, Vision for sport in the Solihull community.

Thank You

Robert Saffery
