11 Year Old William Rigg , Captain of Olton & WW u 11 team , and
Warwickshire County u 11 batsman , broke all the scoring records for
Olton when he played in a Warwickshire u11 County Match versus
Gloucestershire on June 27th. William scored an amazing 179 runs in the
County's 309-6 ( The second highest ever made by a Warwickshire Junior )

One of our members Tony Hawkhead has received a Knighthood in the
latest Honours Lists. Tony received the Knighthood for services to
environmental regeneration . He has been CEO of the environmental
charity group Groundwork for 15 years and before that CEO of East London
Partnership working to transform one of the poorest parts of London.
Tony is also Trustee of WWDT and was also Trustee of WWSC for 12 months.
Tony
says he still wishes to remain plain Tony to his friends at the club -
or other names that maybe used on the tennis courts when he does one of
his volleys off the frame.

Wednesday 22nd June . A great night for the Junior Squash members at the Warwickshire Squash Junior AGM held last night at Solihull Arden.
The Under 15 team won the under 15 championship in their first year

and several other awards were presented - see here for details

The "Mound" area by the cricket pitch / bottom tennis courts is to
be tided up. If any member would like to donate a bench / picnic bench

to Claire Bishop who completed the Edinburgh marathon on Sunday in the
teeth of an almighty gale in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Claire would like
to thank everyone who sponsored her in aid of the Molly Olly fund.
