Awards and trophies for young members
Olton and WW CC held its end of season youth teams' presentation night on Friday Sept 12th.
Back at the club once more, the function room was filled to bursting with standing room only as loads of young players and their proud parents attended.
Richard Fox, youth team co-ordinator, was MC for the evening and Phil Vann Club Chairman presented the awards.
Each team manager gave a summary of the season and highlighted team and individual performances, in which the u11s had won their 8 a side league and were runners-up in their eleven a side league; in which the u13s were equal top in their league; in which the u15s maintained the club's position in the u15 Premier League and the u17s were about to play in their cup final on Sept 21st. All in all a succesful season.
Mukesh Patel and Phil Williams for the u11s, awarded Billy Lewis the bowling award, Rishi Patel the batting, James Turner the most improved player and Imran Ali the 'Impact' award.
Richard Fox for the u13s gave Jaspal Jheeta the batting, Aali Mughal the bowling, Sean Baker the most improved and Bobby Moseley the 'Impact' award.
in the u15s Marc Webb and Steve Wallis awarded Dan Ceillam the batting prize, Dan Clarke the bowling and Karim Ullah the most improved prizes whilst the 'Impact' award went to Chrsi Joiner.
The u17 prizes awarded by Bob Danter went to Gary Hawkins for batting, Joe Moore for bowling, Phil Ceillam for most improved and Dan ceillam for the 'Impact' award. There were two other awards. The match ball was presented to Sam McAndrew for his hat-trick and Jaspal Jheeta and Joe Gavin were presented with commemorative bats detailing their record breaking 187-0 opening partnership in an u13 match.
Thanks were extended to all who had helped, parents, coaches, managers and the club ctte and trustees. And especially to Shane Gavin and Impact Financial Services for their support of the Youth section.
