Olton & West Warwickshire Bowling Club

The club boasts a national standard bowling green and pavilion. With teams playing in the national association ‘The Warwick and Worcestershire County Bowling Association’

Presently the club hosts league matches on Saturdays and Sundays for ladies and gentlemen of all ages and abilities, also there are many inter club tournaments, club days and evenings during the week where any age, gender or ability player is welcome. The Bowling profile in general is changing and now encourages all ages to join in; you can start from around the age of 7 and be playing well into your eighties

We aim to provide a welcoming and friendly environment within which players of all ages & abilities can participate in and enjoy all aspects of the game. We aim to offer members the opportunities and technical support to excel at the highest levels of the sport, whilst instilling the virtues of sportsmanship and etiquette towards fellow members, officials and opponents alike. We aim to serve the community as a whole, promoting a beacon of sporting excellence open to all.

The club is based in the heart of Olton and Close to the Mere. It plays on the clubs premier crown green and uses the new, adjoining West Warwicks sports club building as its club house, providing excellent meeting, kitchen and toilet facilities. There are good spectator facilities and West Warwicks provides great parking facilities.

The club offers a great friendly, relaxed club atmosphere for our membership, with regular Inter-Club matches, along with social events. The club membership has a wide age range – from teenagers to seniors. Bowling is available most days, for all age groups and all abilities – male and female.

Thinking Of Joining?

If you are thinking of joining or getting started with crown green bowls, then why not come and try the facilities before joining, during the bowling season which runs form April to September. We really do welcome new members and ensure that they feel comfortable and “at home” immediately.

On most evenings during the season, you are likely to find some club members having a relaxed and informal “roll-up” practice on the green. Please feel free to join them and they will be happy to spend time with you and answer any questions you might have.

The club will also be holding organised “taster sessions” for prospective new members on the following dates. Bowls will be provided but please wear flat soled shoes.

In the Club Open Days in 2015, we attracted a range of people from the age of six upwards, who were able try their hand at bowling.
